The Heads are the two massive cliffs which guard the entrance between the sea and the lagoon and are one of Knysna's most famous attractions.
Situated on the eastern Head with its winding roads and hilltop presence, accommodation offers visitors spectacular sunsets and direct views of the lagoon as the tides come and go. One can also look across to the expanse of the western Head which is a privately owned nature reserve.
On calm, balmy days when the tide is out, walks from one of the small beaches at The Heads across to Leisure Isle is a must do.
